At Homeowners Financial Group, serving veterans is an integral part of our corporate culture. We understand that service members often face unique challenges when buying a home or refinancing a mortgage that people who aren’t members of the military don’t encounter. And we’re committed to helping veterans get the financing they need.

The VA loan program makes it easier for military personnel, veterans and eligible spouses to get a mortgage or refinance their existing home loan. VA loans often have less stringent lending requirements than conventional loans, and they limit the amount buyers must pay in closing costs. Plus, VA loans don’t have a minimum down payment or private mortgage insurance requirement.

At HFG, we’ve streamlined our application process to make getting a mortgage fast and easy. Many of our Licensed Mortgage Professionals specialize in VA loans, including Daphni Hagen, an Air Force veteran who joined Homeowners Financial Group because of the culture. “HFG really cares about its clients and wants what’s best for them. Our clients aren’t just a number like they are at some mortgage companies. We take the time to get to know them,” she said.

Our VA loan specialists know what documentation to ask for upfront to make the lending experience as seamless as possible. And some are members of organizations such as the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals — a nonprofit and HUD-approved housing counseling organization dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership, financial literacy education, VA loan awareness and economic opportunity for active military members and veteran communities.

Since joining HFG eight years ago, Daphni has helped dozens of veterans secure the financing they need. “Anything for our vets. That’s my passion at Homeowners. I just love to work with veterans,” she said.

To show our appreciation for the men and women who serve our country, Homeowners Financial Group is teaming up with Operation Shoebox, a nonprofit supporting active-duty troops deployed overseas and returning home. Throughout November and December, HFG employees across the country will write letters to military personnel for Operation Shoebox to include in the care packages it sends to the troops.

If you or your loved ones are eligible for a VA loan, give us a call today to learn how Homeowners Financial Group can help you secure the financing you need.
