Hard work spotlights the character of people:
Some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don’t turn up at all. -Sam Ewing
Sheri Larson is this month’s Homie Highlight and has turned up her sleeves every single day. It is our pleasure to spotlight her character and her long standing impact to the organization and those around her. Nitesh Patel, another long tenured employee and VP of Production Management & Closing, professes over her hard working contributions saying, “I’m excited to see Sheri selected as our Homie Highlight! She defines what it means to have exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to always assist. Having been with HFG for 10 years, her dedication is unparalleled. It is a privilege to have her part of the team and great to see her growth over the years.”
Sheri began her journey with us in September 2012 and her dedication to assisting others quickly elevated her to the Disclosure Team Manager. Having two sides of her role with managing the team and also working her own files, one thing is clear: Sheri’s character shines as bright as her smile while assisting others. Overseeing the critical function of issuing clients their loan disclosures, Sheri rolls up her sleeves to ensure the team is always accurate and operating with a sense of urgency. She leads the team by example by providing a consistent service at the start of the loan process and ensures the first impression is delivered the right way. National Director of Sales Experience and Engagement Danielle Swiatek knows the importance of this function. “I love Sheri’s willingness to help!” She shares, “Her dedication to support our people and make things happen in support of our borrowers is outstanding. You can count on her attention to detail to ensure things are done correctly, while also learning from her along the way. She’s an amazing leader, teacher and fellow Homie!”
When Sheri is not contributing all she can give to her fellow Homies, she and husband Tom enjoy their downtime together alongside their dog Moo. Yep, Moo 😊. Some of her favorite activities include immersing herself into books for hours, getting caught up with the latest streaming television hits and some intense Scrabble matches. The quiet intensity was not so quiet in her early years as she studied martial arts and received her 1st degree black belt. Baseball is another passion of the Larson family where a bucket list continues to make progress as she maps out attending a game at every MLB stadium.
Nelson DeLeon, Chief Operating Officer talks about her dependability in the precise nature of handling our clients disclosure documents. “Great thing about Sheri is that she understands how to get things done, which is very important in the small timelines she and team operate within. Always done right, legal and compliant, and on time. Her work ethic and quality character are of the many reasons she has raving fans both inside Homeowners and the families she assists in financing the American dream.” While celebrating Sheri and all she brings to the table, we point out recent recognition and her actual seat at the table. 10 years of service is no small measure and Homeowners Financial Group continues its ritual of honoring its employees to hit that mark and beyond with an exclusive CEO dinner commemorating a group of employees each year. We welcome Sheri to the 10-year tenure club and know that she will welcome others who follow her display of hard work to continued success.
3 words that best describe Sheri: Reliable. Kind. Thoughtful.
