Homie Highlight: Elena Toner

“I am very happy with what I am doing and enjoy going to work every single day,” says this month’s Highlight. At Homeowners Financial Group, we believe we started the Culture movement and love every time a Homie lets us know it’s real. The word “Culture” is sometimes confused with things like free lunches or a ping pong table. At HFG and personified by Elena, Culture is the core beliefs of the people within the organization and being empowered to make decisions accordingly. It is treating our employees as family. It is recognizing each other when someone does a great job and promoting goodwill in our local communities. It is a feeling and how we go about things. Recently participating in our charitable initiative, Elena says, “I volunteered to collect for the Salvation Army along with others. A very touching and humbling moment for me. So many people generously donated and gave compliments for the great work the Salvation Army provides for the community. I was proud that my employer gives me the opportunity to be involved in something great.”

Elena Toner joined HFG in May of 2017 as a Loan Processor and works out of the Peoria, AZ location on the west side of the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Processors play a critical role in the loan approval process as they are the ‘link’ between our clients, our Licensed Mortgage Professionals, and the Underwriter reviewing the file for approval. “I truly believe we have the best team in the business,” Elena says of Carisa Winklepleck and the WIN Group. “We all have the same common goal of providing top notch customer service to every client we are fortunate enough to assist in the American dream.” Working predominantly with clients buying new build homes, the team knows absolute precision is key. We appreciate Elena’s work ethic and ‘whatever it takes’ approach to her every day. Team member Jodie Koltes noted, “Elena is very thorough, knowledgeable and a joy to work with! Elena doesn’t skip a beat when it comes to processing and we know she will get the job done.”

Originally from Pennsylvania, Elena is married to husband Jeff and enjoys the mortgage business so much, she introduced their daughter Jennifer to the industry who is on a great career path following in Mom’s footsteps. Spike and Tink (short for Tinkerbell of course) are the family’s two Chihuahuas that get overly spoiled at home. When she’s not processing loans, Elena and Jeff are avid pickle ball players which is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. A less strenuous activity, the card game Bunco, is definitely where you will find Elena at her most competitive state.

3 words that best describe Elena: Caring, Trustworthy, Dependable
